About CBT Training

The University Centre for Rural Health (UCRH)

University Centre for Rural Health (North Coast) is part of the Medical School of the University of Sydney, and is also in a collaborative partnership with the University of Western Sydney, the University of Wollongong, Southern Cross University and the North Coast Area Health Service to provide and support rural student placements for medical and allied health students.

UCRH CBT training has been established to provide top quality training in evidence-based psychological therapies for mental health practitioners from around Australia, in particular from rural and remote services. Registrants come from every state and territory.

A majority of these registrants are from rural, remote and regional centres.

Evidence-based Therapies Training Unit

The Evidence-based Therapies Training Unit (EBTTU) was established at UCRH in 2008 to promote training, supervision and research in evidence-based psychological therapies for mental health practitioners. Over that time, we have trained over 1500 practitioners, many returning year after year due to the quality of the programs on offer.

The EBTTU promotes training in therapies which have an evidence-base. Since 2008, we have provided training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness-based practices, Compassion-based practices, Schema Therapy and ACT.
