2017 Compassion, ACT and CBT Experiential Training
For many years, we have been researching how best to train therapy skills. The conclusion we have reached is that there is no substitute for learning therapist skills ‘from the inside out’ (see reference list here). So for 2017, Sydney University’s University Centre for Rural Health (UCRH) is excited to be offering a unique self-experiential therapist training program in Byron Bay, focusing on compassion-focused approaches ACT, and CBT.
UCRH is also spreading its wings. We are also offering, for the first time, workshops in Brisbane (April/November) and Melbourne (November). And delighted to be bringing to Australia in April 2017 Dr. Dennis Tirch, a world leader in integrating ACT/compassion focused therapy/mindfulness/Buddhist Psychology/CBT – and in November, Professor Paul Gilbert, founder of Compassion Focused Therapy.
Also featured in our program is Professor James Bennett-Levy, who combines his interests in a contemporary strengths-based experiential approach to CBT with compassion-focused approaches. For the Mindful Self-Compassion Skills 5 day experiential program, James will be joined by Tina Gibson, a leading MSC teacher in Australia.
We hope you will consider treating yourself to our Byron, Brisbane or Melbourne workshops. Like nearly 2000 others over the past 8 years, you will find Byron a perfect learning environment to enhance your therapy skills and take a well-earned break from day-to-day life. And in 2017, we are looking to bring a bit of that Byron magic to Brisbane and Melbourne as well.
